Educational Philosophy

Education is a social process. Education is growth. Education is not a preparation for life; education is life itself.

~ John Dewey

Our simple educational philosphy: we learn as we live and we celebrate what we learn!

Getting Ready for Collage Class

We are still making some samples for our collage class for elementary students at the end of the month. Here are a couple of our latest. We want to teach them that collage is all about different textures with paper, paint, etc. On the pink fish we layered half circles for scales, used cut paper for seaweed, and used rings for bubbles. On the blue fish we used tissue on the bottom to create some texture, we glued some green fabric ringlets on for seaweed, painted and drew seaweed, and we used both acrylic and watercolor paints. The house is mostly cut paper and marker. We are going to show them some torn paper and fabric collages as well and we are working on those samples now.
