Principles of Photography: This week the girls learned the nine point scale. They learned that you should always try to get your element of focus in the four corners of the screen, touching the four center dots. They saw a hot air ballon the other day and tried to practice the nine point scale. For a short tutorial, click here. They also learned about the different value contrasts high, medium, and low. High value contrast is when the picture is distinctly black and white. Medium value contrast is when there are four to five grays as well as black and white. Low value contrast is when you can hardly tell if there are grays or whites. They are enjoying photography quite a bit.
