Educational Philosophy

Education is a social process. Education is growth. Education is not a preparation for life; education is life itself.

~ John Dewey

Study Habits

As we prepare to enter high school away from home, we have been discussing study habits and testing. Although we did many projects and papers over the past two years, we did not do much formal testing other than the ITBS each spring. So, testing will be somewhat new to the girls since they haven't really done it for 2 years.

I found this good review of how to prepare for an open book test. Go here:

http://learningandlife.edublogs.org/2008/05/13/how-to-prepare-for-an-open-book-test/

And, here is a good check list for test-taking in general:

The girls have taken hundreds of pages of notes and we have reviewed note taking many times -- think they've got that down!
