Sharpie Pen Tshirts

For fun, we made Sharpie Pen Tshirts today and reviewed the concepts of solubility, color mixing and the movement of molecules. Basically, sharpie markers contain permanent ink which is not affected by water but the molecules of ink are soluble in rubbing alcohol. When poured on the shirt, the alcohol can carry the different colors of ink as it spreads on the shirt. For instructions, click on the link above.
