Superbowl history

We're not big football fans but we were assigned to learn some more about the Superbowl. Did you know that the Superbowl was first played Jan. 15, 1967 in Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California. The Kansas City Chiefs were defeated by the Green Bay Packers 35-10. Dallas holds the record for most Superbowls won at 8. New Orleans holds the record for hosting the most Superbowls at 8. Mike Lodish holds the record for most Superbowls played at 6. Don Shula holds the record for most Superbowls coached at 6. The longest field goal ever kicked in the Superbowl was by Steve Christie who kicked a 54-yard field goal for the Buffalo Bills in 1993. There has never been a Superbowl shutout. Typically, 80 to 90 million Americans are tuned into the Super Bowl at any given moment. And, in 2007, a 30 second commercial during the Superbowl cost $2.6 million.
