We've had a busy month.
In Art, the girls are currently working on a series of prints entitled "Two for Tea." They may try to sell them for charity. We will try to post pictures some time soon. They are both taking art classes as well and have enjoyed learning some new multimedia techniques.
We spent last Thursday volunteering at the Special Olympics. The girls had a great time playing soccer with some special kids from Mecklenburg County. They will begin helping in a 2nd grade class room next week, overseeing book clubs.
Soccer is winding down. Their club team has one tournament left for the Fall. Both continue to split their time between center back and goalie and both made some great saves in goal this past weekend.
They continue to swim and they are looking forward to their first meet in November.
We are heading to Chapel Hill and Raleigh to visit the Monet in Normandy Exhibit and the Ackland Art Museum. If we have time, we'll visit the Nasher Museum at Duke as well.
We finished reading My Brother Sam is Dead and we are now reading a more contemporary novel, Chicken Boy.
T continues with her fashion design course and H will begin cooking classes next week.
Algebra, American History, and Physical Science are plugging along. In Language Arts, they are starting to prepare for a written competition called Wordmasters and they are putting finishing touches on their papers entitled "Life is a Maze." We hope to post them next week.
They are reading a lot in Spanish and their vocabulary is improving tremendously in Italian. We hope they'll be ready to get us all around Italy in a few months!
That's about all folks.
